Spring is nearly here and that means it’s time to think about annual sump pump maintenance.
We’ve already had some significant rain, but spring is sure to bring more. So, it’s the perfect time to check your sump pump for any damage or issues.
Here are 3 ways to check your sump pump. This is also a service we offer if you’d rather leave the plumbing to us – give us a call to schedule your appointment.
1. Check for Debris
Check your sump pump for debris in the vent hole, valves, and other areas.
2. Test Your Sump Pump
Before any more rain falls, test your sump pump by pouring water directly into it until it turns on. Wait until the pump turns off once the water has been removed, then add more water until the pump turns on again. We suggest doing this 3 times.
3. Check Your Sump Pump’s Battery
If you have a backup battery make sure it’s charged!
We are ready for that warmer spring weather. Make sure your sump pump is too!
