We excavated from the water meter crock to the side of the home to install a new 1" poly water service line. We made a connection outside the meter crock after cutting the copper pigtail. A 2" hole was drilled through the home's slab, and we dug under the footer from the outside to drive a 1-1/2” PVC pipe sleeve through the floor for the new service entry. Inside the home, we installed a new main ball valve and pressure reducing valve (PRV) after transitioning from 1" poly to 3/4" copper. We also ran tracer wire alongside the new poly water service and turned on the water for testing. During this process, we discovered a leak at the flare nut inside the crock, which was not due to our work. We attempted to tighten the flare nut, but the leak persisted. Upon removing the crock for inspection, we found that the threads on the meter stop were damaged. We advised the customer to contact the water authority for further inspection and repairs, and secured the area until the inspection and backfilling could be completed.
We backfilled the ditch line and periodically tamped the dirt with a jumping jack tamper as we filled in the excavation. We used hydraulic cement around the sleeve inside the home where the new water service passed through the slab. Outdoors, we raked the area to remove large visible rocks, followed by seeding and applying straw using two bales.

( existing water service to be cut, capped and abandoned in ground at water meter and in home) Installation of a new water service line meeting current local codes and standards. Connection of new line to municipal water supply and internal plumbing system. Backfilling and restoration of excavation area to original grade. Rough patch concrete in mechanical room. Obtaining all necessary permits and scheduling all required inspections. Final testing and verification of system operation.
