Water was lukewarm on highest setting. At the request of the customer, I reset the gears so customer can get full range of temperature. Water heater has been changed since our last time out, we set the gears on the diverter based on 140 degree water, water is colder now due to stock settings on new water heater.
Repaired broken head on septic system.
Inspected septic tank, it is in good condition. Inspected both sand filters, both have equal distribution of effluent, there is no pooling in filters and no biomass on sand. Sand is in good condition. Inspected pump chamber 1 pump is pulling 8.7 amp’s pump counter 008396 . Inspected pump chamber 2 pump is pulling 6.5amps pump counter 003457 . Sanitizer chamber has tablets and is functioning properly. Inspected drain field, heads are working properly and dispersal area is in good condition. System is working properly.
Water test results. Hardness=.5 grains Iron=.trace. Mostly ferric Ph=. 7.0 Tds= 91ppm
Well shows signs of surface water infiltration. Recommend installing a uv light with 5 micron prefiltration. Customer understands that this is an attempt to improve water quality while still utilizing the existing small pressure tank. If iron becomes a problem customer is aware that he will need to redesign the laundry room with different appliances to make room for an automatic backwashing iron removal filter and a much larger pressure tank to accommodate the flow requirement of the iron filter
Ran call for water treatment estimate met with customer and found that customer has been experiencing brown discolored water and kitchen faucet performed inspection on existing water treatment system found active leak on acid neutralizer also found active leak on pressure tank existing water. Treatment system is 20 years old explain explained to customer due to age condition of system replacement would be highly recommended create an estimate for work and presented to customer. Customer stated that he would just like estimate emailed so he can review later.
| Water test results. Hardness= 5 grains Ph=6.0 Iron= .5 ppm Tds=90 ppm. Odor exists. Film on water level in toilet tank suspected to be iron bacteria. Water has an iron bacteria related odor smell and looking in the lower level powder room toilet tank shows signs of suspended solids and turbidity in the water . The Ph is low by tenfold and must be corrected before iron removal and softening can take place. The water conditioning system proposed will occupy two rooms with exposed piping in the hallway ceiling entering the closet under the stairs. | ||
