When Mr. K.'s existing softener started leaking he called us out to investigate. Upon inspection we found a mechanical issue with the 20 year old unit. The older unit had worked well for the customer for a long time so we discussed the pros and cons of repairing the unit vs replacing the unit and provided pricing for both options.
After thinking things over he decided that installing a new and far more efficient unit was in his best interests. The next day we arrived to remove the old system and install the new one. The new unit was a Water Care 1054 “Care Soft Elite” water softener which had the capabilities of connecting to the customer's WiFi. This allows the customer to monitor the system from his phone and will notify him if he runs out of salt or if the unit detects an issue. The customer also asked us to install a cartridge filter to prevent any sediment from entering the plumbing system.
