It is never fun when halfway through your shower the water goes cold. This was this case for Mr. M. With a house full, not having hot water needed to be addressed very quickly. After arriving and looking over the 15 year old water heater it was obvious that something was very wrong. The front of the heater was covered in soot caused by flames rolling out of the burn chamber. After discussing the costs of repairing the older heater vs replacement he decided that it was time for a replacement. The customer took advantage of the 12 months no interest financing and we proceeded the install. We replaced the existing 75 gallon, LP conventional vent water heater with a new Bradford White. The new heater was installed in an emergency pan as per code and a new 5 gallon thermal expansion tank was installed also per code.
Mr. B called us when he had trouble with his older ultra violet light. After attempts to get it working properly without success he contacted us to explore replacing the unit with a newer more modern system. After discussing features of the Aqua Treatment Services brand system with touch screen controller he immediately wanted to move forward with the installation. After installing a new ATS 12 gpm system we used chlorine to shock the plumbing system. By shocking the system we ensured that any harmful bacteria that may have been introduced to his system while his older unit was malfunctioning would be sterilized.
When Mr. H. called us he explained that his builder had water treatment installed for him that never seemed to address all of the issues in his water. He reported one of the major issues was a very unpleasant odor in the water. After assessing the existing equipment and testing his water we discussed what the various options would be to give him the quality of water that he was looking for. We then proceeded to install his new system. This system included a 2.5 cuft greensand iron filtration system made by Water Right. This unit was installed with an O-zone generator which turns O2 into O3 and draws through the media bed in order to sanitize the unit. This prevents iron bacteria from growing in the unit. Iron bacteria is a bio-film which produces a rotten egg odor which is commonly mistaken for sulfur. The next component of the the system is a 1.5 cuft resin water softener which uses ion exchange to soften the water. And lastly an ultra violet disinfection system was installed to sterilize any harmful bacteria that may enter the plumbing system. After installation the entire plumbing system is then shocked in order to kill off any bacteria that had already colonized within the plumbing.
When Mr. & Mrs. E. called us they explained that the existing water treatment system was very old and over the years the quality of the water had degraded. They had used us before for several issues such as replacing the pressure tank and water heater and were so happy with the work performed that they wanted us to investigate this issue for them. After testing the water both before and after the existing equipment we found that the units where not working at all. When we explained that the older “clunky” mechanics could be replaced with newer efficient technology which would allow the units to perform better and use less salt they were eager to move forward. We quickly removed the old equipment and hauled it away. We then installed a new Water Care 1354 “Ion Air Cat” iron filtration system with an O-Zone generator followed by a new Water Care “Care Soft Elite” water softener. Concerned with the possibility of bacteria entering the water aquifer in their area they also elected to install an ultra violet disinfection system which is installed with a 5 micron pre-filter. The knowledge that the units connect to their WiFi by way of the Wripli monitoring system gave them a sense of relief knowing that if the units ever detected any issues that we would automatically be alerted.
When Mr. & Mrs. C. woke up one morning to find a minor flood in their basement due to a pin hole leak in the copper plumbing we rushed out to investigate. After performing a on site water analysis we found that the well water was very acidic which had caused years of damage to the copper plumbing system. Acidic water will attack the plumbing system from the inside and is normally associated with blueish- green or turquoise staining on fixtures. After repairing the pin hole leak the customer wanted to make sure that they were addressing the underlying issue and preventing any further damage to the system. We installed a new Water Care 1354 “Clear Care Pro” acid neutralizer with a Calcite / Corsex media blend to raise the PH up above neutral therefore preventing further damage due to acidic water. While we installing the new equipment the customer had us replace his outdated pressure tank which was beyond average life expectancy.
When Mrs. C. purchased her new home she knew the system was older and undersized. Concerned with protecting the plumbing system and providing her family with safe, clean water she called us out to provide options. Due to space issues with the existing location we where able to find a larger area to relocate the system which allowed us to expand upon the equipment needed to address issues that were not currently being corrected. After discussing possible options she decided to install a larger pressure tank to save wear on the well pump. We then addressed her acidic water condition which was attacking the copper plumbing system and causing blue/green stains on her fixtures with a new Acid Neutralizer. The problematic iron staining which also caused the water to have a undesirable taste was corrected with a Air Cat iron filtration unit. Then we where able to provide her with soft, luxurious water at every tap by installing a new metered water softener. The new location also allowed us to install a larger water heater that was better suited for her families needs.
Mr. K. needed our emergency service on a weekend. Mr. K. ‘s water heater had failed and he had no hot water. Our technician arrived in a timely manner and professionally accessed the situation and offered options and solutions. Because we stock in our warehouse most water heater types we were able to furnish and install a replacement water heater the same day. Our gas water heater replacement option included removal and disposal of the old water heater as well as the required permit and inspection by the local authority. Mr. K. was very pleased with our professional same day plumbing service.
When Mr G. decided to remodel his older home, he knew that he needed to update his existing system in order to protect the new plumbing and prevent damaging the new plumbing fixtures. During the construction his existing well was abandoned and a new well was drilled. This well, while providing more water had some different water quality issues. We first installed a larger 119 gallon pressure tank to save wear on the new well pump. We then treated the problematic water conditions with a new Water Care 1354 “Ion Air Cat” iron filtration system with O-Zone generator, a new Water Care 1054 “Care Soft Elite” resin water softener and followed those up with a new 12 gpm ATS ultra violet disinfection system with a 5 micron pre-filter. We also installed a new Rheem Marathon composite plastic electric water heater.
Mrs. B. woke up one morning to find that she had no water. Once we arrived on site we learned that a low PH condition had caused a pin hole leak to form in the basement which had been running the well down until it ran out of water. She had just purchased the house 2 years prior and the acidic water had never been addressed. We discussed how the acidic water attacks the copper plumbing over time and how to correct the issue. The existing pressure tank and water heater where both well beyond average life expectancy, and options where provided for replacement as well. We immediately had the new equipment delivered to her home while the old equipment was drained and removed. We then proceeded to install a new pressure tank with pump protection device, a new 2.5 cubic foot acid neutralizer and replaced the water heater with a new Marathon electric heater.
Shortly after purchasing and moving into his new home, Mr H. knew that he had some issues with the quality of his well water. He asked us to come out to perform a free analysis of his water to learn more. The water analysis showed elevated levels of iron which where harboring iron bacteria that caused a unpleasant rotten egg odor throughout the plumbing system. We also found that the hardness was causing a scaling deposit on his fixtures and dishes as well as preventing his clothes from getting clean. In addition he was concerned with the older / shallow well possibly becoming contaminated with harmful bacteria. Once we discussed all of the issues and options for addressing he was able to make an educated decision and authorized a series of equipment to treat the issues. We began by updating the old small pressure tank. Then we addressed the iron and iron bacteria issues using an iron filtration system which included an O-Zone generator which sanitizes the media bed every regeneration. We combated the hardness related issues by installing a new resin based water softener and ensured safe potable drinking water by installing a new ultra violet (U.V.) disinfection system.
The layout of some homes can prove difficult to find space for water treatment equipment. When Mrs R. called us she wanted to improve the quality of her water but was unsure if we would have the space needed to install the necessary equipment to do so. Sometimes we have to get creative to find a location that works for us as well as the customer. In this case we were able to fit the new equipment in the existing mechanical closet. She now has the luxury of clean soft water while keeping all of the plumbing related equipment in the same location.
Mr. L. met us in the driveway and exclaimed “its in the cellar and its leaking bad”. Sure enough in the cellar we found a twenty five year old water heater emptying its contents onto the floor. We pulled a new water heater from our warehouse and had it installed in short order. Mr. L. was relieved we could take care of this issue within hours of him calling us.
Mrs. R. called complaining of low hot water pressure and limited hot water availability in her master bath shower. Our technician performed a diagnosis and confirmed that Mrs. R. had a very limited amount of hot water before it turned cold. An exploration of the crawl space revealed a twenty year old water heater with a severe leak. We quoted and installed a new water heater and thermal expansion tank. Mrs. R was relieved we could rectify her issue and appreciated that she could finance this unanticipated upgrade to her home.
When Mr. and Mrs. J. relocated to the area they quickly learned about the issues with the water. Even town water supplies can have problematic issues that should be addressed. After performing a free in home water test we discussed the results and went over the issues and corresponding options. They were pleased to hear that the equipment can link to the houses WiFi securely and provide notification if it detects any issues. The problems found in the water were corrected with a carbon block cartridge filter to remove the chlorine and a resin water softener to remove the hardness. The new Water Efficient Technology or (W.E.T.) makes the water softener use less salt and less water during regeneration. When customers choose to use the “Wripli” app they can actually keep track of how much salt they are saving since the unit was installed.
When Mr. and Mrs. K. had continuous issues with their iron filtration unit, we discussed the features of the Water Care “Ion Air Cat”. The mechanics of this new unit eliminates a lot of the issues that are common with other iron filtration systems. We quickly had a new unit delivered to the site and the new unit was installed in the matter of a few hours. Since the installation there have been no more mechanical issues and the customer has informed us of how happy they have been with the new system.
We have been working with Mr. R. for a few years as he renovates a large historical home he purchased. Among many other plumbing related work we also revamped the old pressure tank and water treatment. The customer's primary concerns where protecting the refinished older fixtures as well as the new plumbing that was being installed throughout the house. In addition, he wanted to provide his family with safe, clean water that could be used without worry. This phase of the work consisted of installing a new larger pressure tank, a new iron filtration system, a new water softener and a new ultra violet disinfection system with pre-filter.
Mr. G. was very excited to finally be adding a rear deck to his home. He realized that his rear hose bib would be located under his new deck and would be impossible to access. Mr. G called us out to discuss the feasibility of relocating the hose bib to a different location. Our technician discussed the possible solutions and we decided to relocate the water line to the hose bib in the basement and install a frost-free hose bib in a new location. Mr. G. was very pleased that our solution not only relocated the hose bib but also noted he was thankful not to have to turn off and drain the piping going to his new frost-free hose bib.
Mrs. H. is a property manager and her time is valuable. When Mrs. H. had a tenant call her in a panic because of a water leak Mrs. H. knew just who to call. Upon arrival our technician determined that the thermostatic and pressure relief valve on the water heater was leaking badly. Our technician knew that this valve leaking could be because of an underlying issue so he proceeded to check the water heater thermal expansion tank and found that it was working as it should. Our plumbing technician proceeded to perform a whole house pressure test, this test showed excessive high water pressure, which could have lead to the thermostatic pressure relief valve failure. After our technician installed a whole house pressure reducing valve everything was fine. Mrs. H. thanked our technician for not only fixing the initial problem but caring enough to look for and correct the cause of the problem as well.
Mr. P. was not happy with his water. He had lived in his home for several years and was concerned that his water may be harming his plumbing fixtures. Upon arrival, our technician noted the white scaly buildup on all the faucets and on the showerheads. We tested the water and learned it was high in minerals(hardness) and contained chlorine. Our technician went on to explain to Mr. P that once the water arrived safely to his home the chlorine served no purpose and he might want it removed. We also explained the benefits of a water softener and how a water conditioning system would improve Mr. P.’s quality of life. We recommended and installed a WaterCare “One” cartridge filter with a carbon cartridge for chlorine removal. We also installed our WaterCare Elite soft water softener to remove the minerals and hardness from the water now. Mr. P. is now benefiting from chlorine and mineral-free luxuriant soft water and he could not be happier.
Mr. J. is a longtime loyal customer. One morning Mr. J. woke up to no hot water. Within hours of his call to us, we were able to have a diagnostician on-site and determine the cause of the problem. Our technician determined the issue and offered options to repair or replace the aged water heater. Due to the age of the gas water heater, it was determined that replacement was the best option. In a short time, we had technicians on-site performing the water heater replacement the same day. Mr. J. Was very happy he was without hot water for such a short period of time and thanked us for our same-day prompt service.
Shortly after Mrs. R. purchased this beautiful historic home in Waterford, a heavy thunderstorm flooded the cellar. After identifying a small issue with the sump pump that we corrected, it was also agreed that we should raise the water heater off the floor as a precaution.
In addition, she was not happy with the quality of the water and wanted to discuss what improvements could be made. After performing a free in-home water analysis we found that her issues included a high amount of iron and hardness. In addition, the iron was harboring iron bacteria which was creating a foul rotten egg odor.
We explained the issues and what equipment was needed to eliminate them. The one year - no interest financing offer allowed us to install the equipment immediately while giving her plenty of time to comfortably pay for her new state of the art water treatment equipment.
Mr. E got in the shower only to find that he had no hot water. Mr. E went down to his basement to check his gas water heater only to find a large puddle of water in front of his water heater. Mr. E requested we send a technician out to address the problem. Our technician quickly learned that an internal leak within the water heater had snuffed out the pilot light, the water heater would have to be replaced due to the leak in the tank. Our parts department quickly located a replacement for this nonstandard specialty water heater. Our office staff was able to accommodate Mr. E’s schedule and the replacement of the water heater took place on the day of Mr. E’s choosing. Our installers performed the installation in one day and then ran every fixture in the home to be sure all air was removed from all the water lines. Mr. E was very happy with our work and thanked us for our thoroughness and professionalism
Mrs. H had multiple issues with several different plumbing problems. Mrs. H was stressed as she had one toilet that wouldn't work at all one toilet that wouldn't stop running and a kitchen sink that wouldn't drain. Our technician arrived within hours of Mrs. H calling. Our technician quickly evaluated Mrs. H’s issues and corrected them in a timely fashion. Mrs. H thanked us profusely for our timely and professional service.
Mr. D had no hot water. Within hours of Mr. D’s call, our technician was on site. Our technician quickly identified the issue with Mr.D’s water heater. Our Technician worked with Mr. D and due to the age of Mr. D’s water heater together they decided that repairing an older water heater was not a wise investment for Mr.D. Mr. D decided to replace rather than repair his old water heater. We immediately installed Mr. D’s new water heater and all was well. Mr. D thanked us for doing what was best and not just what was the easiest.
Mr. E. got in the shower only to find that he had no hot water! He went down to his basement to check his gas water heater only to find a large puddle of water in front of his water heater. Mr. E. requested we send a technician out to address the problem. Our technician quickly learned that an internal leak within the water heater had snuffed out the pilot light; the water heater would have to be replaced due to the leak in the tank. Mrs. D. had used our company many times in the past for septic work. This time she gave us a call to upgrade her old tank-style heater to a new more efficient tankless style. Brad went out to take a look at her space and determined a new Navien Gas Tankless Water Heater would best suit her needs.
We pulled all the necessary permits and spent a day installing her new tankless heater. At the end of the day she had on-demand hot water!
Mr. M. called us to look at a very slow kitchen drain. Our specialist snaked the drain multiple times until he and Mr. M. were both convinced the drain was open. Mr. M. started the sink and it never drained better. Our specialist then advised Mr. M. on things he could do to prevent a repeat of this situation. Mr. M. thanked us for being on time and for doing such a great job cleaning up. This is something we always pride ourselves on!
Mrs. B. called us out because she was having staining on her plumbing fixtures. Our technician arrived at her residence and immediately recognized the stains as copper stains, a quick test of the water verified that the water pH was low and this was causing staining because of the copper pipe being corroded by the acidic water. Mrs. B. was relieved we had a solution to protect her pipes from erosion and that the staining would not return. Mrs. B. was very happy we could install her acid-neutralizing automatic backwashing filter the next day!
Mrs. C. lives out of state and bought a local home to stay in when she visits family locally. She was concerned because her new home had a very old water heater. Our specialist evaluated the water heater and he and Mrs. C. agreed she would sleep better at night knowing she had a new water heater. We installed the new lifetime warranty water heater the next day and Mrs. C. thanked us profusely for the peace of mind we could provide her.
Mr. T. just bought a new home and never had a home on a well and septic system before so he wanted a consultation with our specialist to evaluate the plumbing and water quality. Mr. T. and our specialist went through the entire home and evaluated all the plumbing and needed repairs and upgrades. Our specialist and Mr. T. then prioritized each recommendation so Mr. T. could make an informed decision on the order in which things needed to be done. He really appreciated our thoroughness and stated he was happy to be dealing with a professional consultant and not just someone looking to sell him things!
Mr. V. is an existing customer who has used us for plumbing work in the past. He called us out to correct some minor issues for a leaky kitchen sink drain. Our technician completed the minor repairs and Mr. V. remarked in a letter that he mailed to us that he was very happy that we delivered the same level of professionalism for small jobs that he had come to expect from us on the larger jobs we have done for him.
Mr. R. was still moving into his new house when he realized the kitchen cabinet was flooding whenever he ran the kitchen sink. Our technician discovered a leaking spray hose on the very old faucet. Mr. R. was very happy to learn that we would gladly install a new faucet of his choosing once he acquired it and really appreciated the fact that we would install his customer-supplied faucet.
Mr. K. had a hose bib on the back of his house that was spraying water everywhere. Our technician arrived on site and quickly replaced the hose bib and had Mr. K. back to watering his garden in no time. He thanked us for our quick response and was happy he did not lose any of his plants due to our quick service!
Mr. C. was hearing strange noises in his house at random times and was concerned his sump pump was running too frequently. He rarely goes into his basement and called us out to check it out. Turns out the sump pump was fine however our technician did find a running toilet in the basement bath that was causing the basement sewage pump to run periodically. Our technician fixed the toilet and the problem was solved. Mr. C. thanked us for our technician for solving all his plumbing problems for the last couple of decades!
Mrs. A. has city water and was concerned with the quality of her water so she called us and set up an appointment to have our technician come out and do a free in-home water test. Mrs. A. was not surprised to learn that her water was high in minerals (hardness) and had very high chlorine as well. She asked us what was our best water conditioning system because she wanted the chlorine and minerals removed and wanted the best drinking water we could provide. The very next day we immediately scheduled the water treatment system installation which included a chlorine removal filter and a water softener in the basement as well as a reverse osmosis water filter system under the kitchen sink. Mrs. A. thanked us for providing the peace of mind that having clean, safe drinking water provides!
Mr. R. followed the trail of water on his basement floor all the way to the water heater where he saw an obvious water leak so he called us right away. Our specialist soon arrived and offered several water heater replacement options as Mr. R. did not want a hot water heater repair. Our specialist immediately set up the install and the new water heater installation was completed the same day. Mr. R. said he was dazzled by our awesome service and efficiency!
Mr. C. thought he had a leak under his kitchen sink so he called us out to have a look. Our specialist quickly determined that the faucet spray hose was leaking and Mr. C. decided to replace the faucet. He picked up his new faucet and we promptly installed it. He was very pleased that we were happy to install the faucet that he supplied.
Mrs. M. had a toilet that was not working properly and she had to turn it off. She had company coming soon and wanted the toilet fixed. Our technician repaired the toilet and Mrs. M. was so happy that neither she nor her guests would be inconvenienced!
Mr. J. had a bathroom faucet that was dripping and asked us to come to look at it. Upon our arrival, we determined that every other faucet in the bathroom had been replaced except this one and Mr. J. wanted a replacement, not a repair. He was very happy that we were able to install his customer-supplied faucet.
Underground Pipe Repair in Middleburg, Virginia
Kristin T. of Middleburg, VA noticed water collecting near her paddock at her horse farm and low pressure to the horse waterers. Kristin has been a long time customer of JR Snider so she gave us a call to come out and look at the issue. Shorty after we spoke with her, we sent Mike out the same day to diagnose the problem.
Mike arrived and was taken to the location of the leak. Mike noticed the low water pressure to the waterers and traced that pipe back to the shut off valve and turned it off. After a short period of time the water started to subside where it was pooling and the location of the leak was found. Mike provided an estimate to repair the broken pipe and an appointment was set to send Chris and Cameron out to complete the repairs the next day. Chris and Cameron dug the area up around the broken pipe and installed a new section of PVC pipe and couplings to repair the leak. The water was turned back on and a test was performed to check for any additional leaks, none were found. They backfilled and tamped the area down.
Kristin T. and her horses were very happy that the leak was repaired and they now had great water pressure to the waterers!
